Greater Bay Area's Finest Compete Alongside World-Class Teams as Dongguan Guancheng Bugao Primary School Claims Overall Championship
GUANGZHOU, July 14, 2026 — The UJR Guangzhou Qualifier successfully concluded on July 11 in Guangzhou. As the official warm-up for the “2026 Chang’an Cup UJR Championship & UJR Cup” this August in Xi’an, the event drew an enthusiastic response, attracting teams from multiple cities across the Greater Bay Area — including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Huizhou, Foshan, and Dongguan. The competition was further elevated by the participation of world-class powerhouses — Huadong School (Guangzhou Huadu District) and Jianyue Rope Skipping Club.
The tournament was divided into two sessions: the morning Open Competition and the afternoon Guangzhou UJR Cup. Jianyue Rope Skipping, Huadong School, and Guancheng Bugao Primary School engaged in fierce battles across multiple events, with momentum shifting throughout the day. The final overall standings are as follows:
🏆 UJR Guangzhou Overall Top 3
Rank | Team |
Overall Champion | Dongguan Guancheng Bugao Primary School |
1st Runner-Up | Jianyue Combat Team |
2nd Runner-Up | Xiutang Primary School |
Champion team Dongguan Guancheng Bugao Primary School delivered a consistent and commanding performance, sweeping four golds, two silvers, and one bronze — a total of seven medals — to claim the overall championship title. Meanwhile, Jianyue Combat Team put on a stunning display of speed and coordination, taking the 60-second Double Dutch event with an impressive 225 reps.
Huadong School (Guangzhou Huadu District), coached by world champion athlete Cen Zezhong, shared their reflections after the competition: “This event was incredibly exciting — the intensity and rhythm truly tested our stamina and composure under pressure. While we are disappointed not to have taken the title, competing alongside such high-caliber opponents has been an invaluable learning experience for our team.”
Event Director Liang Longbo remarked: “Successfully bringing UJR to Guangzhou marks a new breakthrough and a significant opportunity for the development of jump rope in this region. This event provides a clear direction and support for the industrialization and professionalization of the sport.”
Leung Kin Lok, Sam, UJR Asia-Pacific Development Director, added: “The successful launch of this series in Guangzhou would not have been possible without the strong support of the local association and the active participation of teams across the Greater Bay Area. This not only showcases the unique appeal of UJR but also allows athletes in the region to gain a deeper understanding of UJR competition rules, serving as an ideal warm-up for the upcoming UJR Finals.”
With the Guangzhou stage now officially concluded, the UJR series continues its journey toward the global stage. Next stop: Xi’an — the August World Finals, where the world’s top rope skippers will gather to battle for championship glory.
