The Universal Jump Rope is a group of the admirers of jump rope. We believe in an importance of exercise and aim to explore the jump rope community to be sociable with other jumpers all around the world, and to motivate new generation to engage in jump rope. We have confidence in “Jump Rope” which is good for exercise and health and can be seen to provide a useful way of creating an environment in which people can play together, work towards the same goal, show respect for others and share their passion.

UJR’s ultimate goal is to find new ways to engage fans and generate economic value for jump rope teams, clubs, coaches and jumpers, through the creation of the World’s first professional series for our sport.

However, we are also respectful of the commitments that competitive jumpers have apart from the UJR. The UJR’s compact schedule takes place during a down time in the traditional jump rope calendar. When it’s done, athletes will have plenty of time to return to their national programs to get ready for their International Championship and Continental Championship, for example, the UJR calendar deliberately avoids, as best as possible, the dates of the European Championship in Hungary, The Asian Championship in Japan, the IRSO World Championship in USA, the IJRU World Jump Rope Championships in 2025. This is the primary reason why we have offered jumpers the choice between PRO and Semi-PRO status, which provides additional flexibility and helps manage the various events of the year.

Furthermore, in recognition of the added difficulty that comes with navigating potential calendar clashes, the UJR is proud to increase its support for Pro jumpers competing in the UJR – e.g., with additional travel expenses allowances, etc., to ensure that jumpers can be in the right place, at the right time, with minimum disruption. Ultimately, the UJR is delighted that jumpers have increased opportunities to compete, as the UJR’s goal has always been to provide more opportunities to the jump rope community. Having more choice is always a positive. We look forward to a summer full of incredible performances from athletes, in the UJR and elsewhere!
